Chef’s Night Out – recap (Nikkei Ramen) very successful evening + next event 20 members
Skills Canada Competition recap (April 15)- Lesley was a tasting judge and shared her experience.Simon Martin was a participant and won gold medal
Vancouver Island Culinary Challenge (April 25) recap-competition -6 contestants-Successful event.

Gold – Simon Martin (VIU)

Interactive Trades Expo – May 1 (Timberline)-Gaetane Palardy will be leading with students from tammy good response from students. Need to have a poster and hand out available at next event.
Quadra Island Trip – May 3 update- $20 per person. Discussion about the food that will be served.Carpooling was discussed.
Japanese Cuisine Workshop – May 20 (VIU)-Avi is the instructor- 14 members going.
National Convention update (“The Great Outdoors”)-Discussion about cocktails with gin etc...
Installation Dinner – June 15 update (Jill from ShoreWolf farm / Carmie / Kevin)-Discussion about the dinner menu. We need chairs,tables, dishes etc.. and also a plan B if it rains. Starting at 17:00. Dinner at 18:00.
6. Community Outreach & Fundraising
Facebook outreach (Invite your friends) need to get all member to share with Friends
Children’s Telethon Dinner – April 18 recap (Blue Moon Winery)- 8 people attended. Successful event. SLoan, Kevin and Jonathan did the dinner
Volunteer Nanaimo Lunch -dinner for 300 people,plated 3-course dinner..Money raised goes towards awards for students. Will be in April of 2027 to discuss menu
7. New Business
Scholarship Committee -no applications have been received so far.Deadline 30 April.
Victoria Branch update-new president now Scott Doust.
National bylaws update – Ronald St-Pierre Just some house to bylaw see National minutes
Cookbook project with Farmer’s Market-Back to basics recipes. Working on with Farmers Market
Kevin’s birthday party June 27
July 1- Lewis Park- Canada day event-2 day event. We will explore this fundraising event for next year.
